October 2005, Yosemite Valley
Although I prefer being in the water or riding on the snow, the next time I am this close to Half-Dome I plan to make the 8-mile hike up.

September 15, 2006: We made it to the top!!!

After an exhasting 8 mile hike (Bill and I were, and still are, totally out of shape!) we still had to climb up the cables to reach the peak:

Bill, Me & Mike @ the top! Bill’s college roommate, Mike, led the way and kept us going when we were out of energy.

Me at the top, trusting in the stability of rock slabs! (Sorry Mom and Dad!  Once I saw this picture I realized it was riskier than I thought to go that close to the edge!  4700 foot drop…)
